Katakana Conquered (Mostly)
To: Triunfo.email Reader
Hi everyone,
Some good news from the Japanese learning front: I think I’m finally getting the hang of Katakana! It’s been a bit of a slog, just like Hiragana, but seeing those sharp, angular characters start to make sense is really satisfying.
The best part? I can actually read some loanwords now! Seeing words like コーヒー (kōhii - coffee) or コンピューター (konpyūtā - computer) and knowing what they mean is a great motivator. It makes Japan feel a little bit closer, even if it’s just through borrowed English words.
Still a way to go before I’m fluent in them, but it’s a win I’ll take!
Best,
Oliver
