I had one of those little ‘aha!’ moments in my Japanese studies today, and I had to share! For the longest time, the particle は has been a bit of a puzzle, especially why it’s written with the hiragana for ‘ha’ but often pronounced ‘wa’ when used as a topic marker.

Well, it finally clicked! Yurika explained it again, and I spent some time reading through examples. It’s still a bit to get used to, but knowing why has made a huge difference. It feels like a small key unlocking a bigger door.
